Put your web browser through a HTML 5 test!

HTML 5 (Hyper Text markup language) is the next major version and core language of the World Wide Web. As compared to the current HTML 4.x and XHTML 1.0, the future version hopes to reduce the usage of plugin technology like adobe flash, Microsoft SilverLight etc. Quoted to reach
W3C standardization by late 2010, the HTML5 is fast under development. There are new webpages coming up that lets you  analyze how effectively your current browser can render HTML 5 pages and also gives you a neat score. I ran a couple of tests and here's the results of what the browsers scored.

The Google Chrome browser aced the test with impressive score of 200+ and closely following is the Mozilla's firefox. Microsoft Internet Explorer, which is the most commonly used browser by home users, failed miserably in HTML 5 test. Microsoft blog quotes IE 9.0(currently under development) to be 100% HTML 5 compatible by the time its released. Maybe a few major modifications until the final release should do it!

You can test your browsers using the HTML 5 test service here
