Two days ago, when I logged into my blogger page, I was thrown a neat little surprise announcing a new feature being added to the blogger dashboard, called the "Template Designer".
Curious at a sudden update by the blogger team after such a long time, my hands twitched to check it out. I was greeted with a neat layout that offered 5 categories of themes each having about 6 sub-categories.(screenshot above)
The themes look much better than the previous native drab-looking themes that blogger had for us. There is whole lot of customizability options included within the themes, each element of the theme can be fine tuned for personalization, ranging from fonts, layouts, colors and so on. There is also a realtime live preview of the themes in the lower half of your browser window.
The idea of template designer is quite late to come to the Blogger but I'm glad that the blogger team is taking a few steps to fix that issue. Earlier, most Blogger users installed themes from third party developers using the XML sheets. You had themes of various different styles, some resembling wordpress, but some themes always involved user to fine tune additional settings to achieve the desired results. But with the new template designer built in natively to the Blogger dashboard, maybe soon enough we should have much better looking themes coming to blogger.
