For the past two days, there has been a bizarre news flocking the Assam region of India. Victims say that their mobile phone exploded soon after they received a call from an unknown number.
Nick named "Bombile" terror, there have been over 30 cases reported so far, claims Yahoo! news pages. It all starts with the unsuspecting victim receiving a phone call, when the user attends the call, it goes out with a bang rendering the user some serious injuries. More than 20 have been reported to be hospitalized so far. This mysterious phenomenon is being investigated by the vigilante in Assam and speculations are on for the case.
"I received a call from an unknown number, the strange thing was that the CLIP showed the number highlighted in red, after I attended the call, there was a sound and here I am, hospitalized" One of the victims quoted...
Why the "red" highlight on the CLIP (caller line identification protocol)...? A defense mechanism by the handset maybe? As most would guess, the phones that exploded were NOT some cheap Chinese mobiles. These were much reputed branded ones like Nokia, Samsung & Motorola which are known for their quality and durability.
As far as I'd like to put it, this strange phenomenon vaguely resembles the sci-fi flick from the hollywood movie, "The Surrogates" where the evil genius explodes the surrogate machines with remote EMP waves killing its user. There are no clues as of yet how this is happening, maybe the terrorist has found an ingenious way to come up with matching frequency that triggers mobile components to explode or overload.
Untill any updates are received, be warned, DO NOT attend any calls from a unknown number, usually highlighted in red.
