Open Source India [OSI] conference this september 2010

Claimed as Asia's Largest Open source Conference,OSI days is all set to make its grand appearance this september 2010, at the Chennai Trade Centre, Madras, India.

India, though once pointed to be on hit list of software piracy concerns, is slowly changing all that with time, thanks to organizations like OpenSource India[ formerly LinuxAsia], FOSS and a lot more good people who choose opensource to piracy. OSI, started in 2003, has been on a mission to accelerate the use of Open source alternatives rather than settling down for a bootlegged or pirated copies. The sad truth is, not many end users know that the "Free" operating systems that their computer vendors installs for them is actually illegal and pirated/cracked versions that cause a loss of millions of dollars each year.

During this september 19 to 21st of 2010, OSI Days, will happen at Chennai Trade Centre, jointly organized by Forum for Open Source Initiative in India ]FOSII] in association with the "Linux for you magazine".
There are a quite a number of eminent speakers lined up for the event, namely, Bastian feder( Liip AG, Swizz), Dave Hall(Skwashd), David Recordon(Facebook US), Mishi Chouwdry (Software Freedom Law center, India) and whole lot more. Comprehensive and updated list of speakers can be found on the OSI webpage.

As for the event schedules, there's developer content on PHP,Drupal, joomla, android and smartphone dev, sessions for students and intermediate level devs, Expert sessions, facebook dev, cloud computing and the list goes on and on! This is also your chance to meet the big names in software field.
