Best Gaming Laptops under 1000$

There are times when the inner gamer within us awakens and makes us go berserk to play the games out there on best possible settings! But any gamer worth his salt would know, to play a game in the way its meant to be played, one has to have the big boys under the hood and no, I am not talking about BFG*, I meant the hardware that runs your games... ;)

I know a few lucky S.O.B (pun intended) who happen to have "Rich uncles"...who would buy them the latest and the greatest CPU and GPU that the company churns out once in every six months! But for the rest of us, I have compiled a list of reasonably good Laptops that can run almost any game in the wild at medium to high resolution. The best part is they all are affordable and don't require you to sell out your organs in the black market for cash!

ACER ASPIRE 5740G

The acer 5740G is the people's champion in budget gaming laptops segment. Costing around 760$ in the US and about 42,000 rupees in India, this laptop is a powerful force to reckon with. A core i5 coupled with the ATI RADEON HD 5650 at a price so sweet, makes this a best buy.The reviews show that this laptop is capable of handling almost every game out there. yes, it plays Crysis at enthusiast resolution with all the eye candy turned on..

The Config:
Intel Core i5 430M 2.6Ghz
4 GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium
500GB hard disk
ATI 5650 HD 1GB

SONY VAIO VPCEB16FG/B
This is an Vaio E-series laptop from the stables of Sony. Usually, most budget gamers shy away from sony vaio series as they are rumored to be expensive and weak configured ones. To prove them all wrong, this is one of the only two decently configured gaming laptops at an affordable price. Sells for about 990$ in the US and 50,000rs in India, its a Core i3 2.1Ghz processor with an ATI 5650. This 15'' laptop is light enough for portability, with shiny *bling* lights that sure would draw attention towards you at the next LAN party you would have just to show off this machine!
The Config
Intel Core i3 running at 2.1Ghz
4 GB DDR2 RAM
Windows 7 HP
500GB Hard disk
TI 5650 1GB graphics card

ACER ASPIRE 5745G
Often quoted by dealers in India as the successor to the ACER 5740G, this laptop is the same configuration of the Acer 5740G, only with an Nvidia 330M graphics card. This costs about 47,000 rupees in India, a little more than the older 5740G.This laptop looks neat with beveled sharp edges and has a business look to it. The graphics card is a Dx 10 chipset supporting the newer nvidia Cuda capability. The card is decently powerful and can run most games at medium resolution with all the eye candy turned on. A good buy for an alternative to the 5740G.
The Config:
Nvidia 330M 1GB graphics card
The rest *Same as the Acer 5740G*

HP Pavilion DV6-3043TX
The HP DV6 is one of the good looking 15.6'' laptop with a great configuration, but albeit at a higher price. Retails for about 51,000 rupees in India, this is a recommended buy if you want your laptop to be as jazzy on the outside as its under the hood. The classy feature is the Lightscribe drive, that lets you print labels on your cds and dvds right within the dvd burner drive. This one even has a biometric finger print reader, lets unlock your laptop in style, your body is the password!
The config:
Intel core i5 430m 2.6Ghz
ATI Mobiliy Radeon HD 5650 Graphics Card
600GB hard disk
4GB DDR3 RAM
Lightscribe DVD RAM drive
Altec Lansing speakers.

You might be wondering why have i listed only the Arrandale family of CPUs with ATI 5650 cards, the reason is, that this CPU is powerful for multitasking application and soon games will be optimized for multicores. This is not to say duo cores or quads are gonna be outdated, its just a personal preference. And for the notebook segment, ATI 5650 and the nvidia 330M are best possible cards for the budget conscious gamer. But then again, the list is  just my cue from what i researched for my personal buying experience, you are free to choose yours.
And, the list will be updated, so keep watching this space for more best deals!
